Sannenzaka Correspondence

Editors’ Diary 2/11/2023

I communicated to a former colleague, currently employed at a news agency, that I do not lend or convey the composition I’ve devised to anyone. Currently, a state of “Chuto-hanpa” (mediocrity) is acceptable. However, the concept of “Jigou-jitku” (reaping what one sows) is absolutely nonexistent. I discussed the prospect of being employed as a reporter by any media with him.

Shifting focus to geographical considerations, our conversation touched upon the topic of how, from a econo-cultural perspective, nations or regions historically engaged in cooking practices such as rice boiling are inherently associated with impoverished lands where productivity cannot be expected.
