Sannenzaka Correspondence

Editors’ Diary 20/09/2023

I have been receiving a scholarship from the Japan Student Services Organization, but recently, due to my parents’ sudden change in attitude, the procedures have become more complex nature. Their behavior is utterly reprehensible.

Incidentally, I heard from a former colleague of mine who is a journalist at a news agency, and they mentioned that a reporter who joined the company one year below me, after graduating from Shizuoka University, has transitioned to NHK and has been assigned to Tottori. This individual was originally stationed at my hometown bureau and has never been involved with double headquarters in Tokyo and Osaka. The word is that he lacks substantial reporting experience and capability, making it appear as another form of political personnel placement.

My former colleagues have gathered in Tottori, but I have distant relatives named the Aokis in the neighboring prefecture of Shimane.
