Sannenzaka Correspondence

Editors’ Diary 01/08/2023

Through my career as a news reporter, I have a special attachment to the reclaimed lands of Chuo and Koto wards and the Bay Area in Tokyo. Various reasons, such as moving around the vicinity as my living space, contribute to this atmosphere. However, the unique modern historical context of this area, once intended for the prewar Japan Tokyo International Expo, is an essential aspect of my life’s scenery. Drawing inspiration from a extraordinary German journalist of the 20th century, these past dreams persist and cyclically return, continually modal evolving. It is something I contemplate daily days.
