Sannenzaka Correspondence

Editors’ Diary 30/07/2023

It’s shocking that my former colleague, 八巻高之 Takayuki Yamaki, has returned as a journalist at Nikkei BP. I have no intention of forgiving him due to the problems he caused, which have significantly disrupted my life. His exploitation of his relationship with a Chinese woman in the newspaper to trouble our colleagues will be etched in memory forever.

Interestingly, he seems to be writing articles about electronic components and digital content, topics I used to handle, and has apparently pursued the financial analyst qualification I mentioned wanting to obtain after getting married. He appears to be emphasizing intellectual property and imitating my approach of carefully observing government intellectual property policies and patents. It’s worth noting that his previous role was in the less-covered oil industry.

What stands out in our memory is his, Yamaki’s, opposition to the Tokyo Olympics, despite being responsible for the Japanese strategic energy company ENEOS. On the contrary, I as a news reporter have interacted with major sponsor companies, including NTT, NEC, Fujitsu, Canon, and others in the telecommunications and IT sectors, sometimes, as well as Toyota, JR, airlines, and financial companies, while addressing various difficult issues.

八巻高之氏が記者に復帰しているのは、極めて恥ずかしいことだと思います。
